Caryl's REFLECTIONS ABOUT THE LITTLE PRINCE

MY REFLECTIONS:

My teacher in our Developmental Reading recommended us to read the book entitled The Little Prince for our project. Before I start to read the book, I really thought that this project will be so boring. It was definitely the first time to read this book. I really didn’t understand. But as I progress reading to the story, I can’t help it but feel that this book is actually has some deeper way of teaching us of what is truly is essential to our lives and it was that I never realize how pathetic I am to be so blind before, for I really don’t see the true value of this book.

I feel that each chapter expresses a soulful expression of nature of love, friendship, loneliness, community and duty. The themes of the book portrayed was vague but ironically very visible if one will read it with a peaceful and relaxed mind… you can really feel and understand the story not with your own two eyes but with your heart. I think you’re not going to get it as what it really means unless you read it knowing it’s not only a simple book. It’s not an action book or a huge, twisted plot but it’s a very beautiful and absolutely anyone can draw off meaning from it if they’re thinking freely about it.

This is truly an amazing book. Antoine de Saint-Exupery is an excellent author. He has written the book so that it can be read either a simple childhood tale or as an awe-inspiring and though-provoking novel for readers who seek to deeper meanings. This book is do full of symbolism.
